Hart

Oxana Hart is a fisheries scientist whose work focuses on statistical modelling to better understand marine ecosystems and support more informed, sustainable decision making.

She began her career in economic cybernetics in Ukraine before spending over a decade in HR roles at organisations including Nike, Shell, and the World Bank Group across Europe and Asia. She later returned to her first love of maths and science, retraining in statistics after a growing pull towards work with more purpose and impact.

Oxana holds a Master of Statistics from Victoria University of Wellington, specialising in fisheries science through a scholarship with Fisheries New Zealand and Earth Sciences New Zealand.

I care deeply about the idea that good science can genuinely change outcomes for the environment. Being able to apply maths to something as tangible and important as the ocean my children will inherit feels incredibly meaningful.
