Henry is a data scientist who uses machine learning to study speech and language.
Now based in Auckland, Henry previously worked in various data science roles and lectured in mathematics at Occidental College in Los Angeles. He has a master of science degree in pure maths from California Institute of Technology and an honours degree in mathematics from Victoria University of Wellington.
Some of the most interesting data – sound, pictures, stories – exists in high-dimensional spaces. Machine learning models are like telescopes that allow us to peer into these complex spaces and understand their geometric structure.
